Building a community among patients with a very rare disease

VASCULAR EDS

Giving those with vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome a voice

Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (vEDS) is a rare and poorly understood condition that weakens the collagen matrix of arteries and hollow organs, leaving sufferers vulnerable to aortic rupture or tearing of the bowel or uterus. Few physicians know anything about it. Patients are truly on their own.

Each person affected has their own journey and a unique story to tell—stories that make up the fabric of the vEDS community. Weareveds.comis a website that provides a forum for patients and caregivers to share their stories and find support. The name was selected to signify the threads of both collagen and the community. Combining the threads of what makes patients different and of what makes them the same is how we create a tapestry of support for the vEDS community.
