A psychological boost for children with cancer
The makers of Oncaspar, an important part of combination treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, which mostly affects pediatric patients, had contracted with a vendor to provide “Comfort Capes” to young patients at no charge. The brief was to create a flyer that informed their parents about this offer.
The idea was to leverage the psychology of putting little “superheroes” in touch with their inner resilience. I created a storybook explaining how Oncaspar helped to combat life-threatening lymphoblastic proliferation, written in language that parents could read to their children. Cartoon characters helped young patients visualize the benefits of the treatment working inside their bones to make them well.
